Nice job Cat! Put the finishing touches on a display for my daughter’s today. Stole the idea of the inter webs but executed myself. The spike on the right is hers from last year. Do you have to do anything to preserve the feet/legs like that?

I’ve been doing spurs like this lately. I’ve got a necklace type thing going for my dad. He shoots a bunch. I don’t have any luck with turkeys.

I like how you cut the skull on you daughter's spike. Any significance to the sheds, or just a nice fit? The only significance is that they are the only two sheds I’ve ever found.😂

Took my daughter to West Virginia in an attempt to kill a bird on old family property that we now have permission to hunt. We had close calls but no luck. Thankfully my cousin who purchased my parents old place texted Sunday morning an invited us to try for a bird that was strutting near his house. We got there just before 11 and a bird gobbled so we set up. That bird went quiet but a second bird got fired up and gobbled at every call, dog bark or fart that made noise. He hung up at a property line fence so I gave him the silent treatment. Eventually he came sneaking in. I was surprised when I realized it was a Jake because he sounded mature. She dropped him at 30 yards. We killed him in the same area where we chased “Steve” the white turkey 2 years ago. (Story is in an old post) It was good to back to my parents old place. It brought back lots of memories. Our season is now over and I’m happy to sleep in again. Ended up one for me and one for her and none for Dad. We each could hunt Ohio and WV this year so we had 12 tags between us. Lots of close calls to go along with several mornings of silence. It is the most I have hunted in a season thanks to the Wuhan.
