No Name steak is top shelf if you ask me. Question is,,,,, WTF is it, what did they do to it to make it so tender and tasty? Maybe its best not to know and just enjoy them.....

I prefer elk over all else. Another very good piece of meat is antelope from grass country. I have a few beef ribeyes every year but the taste isn't very complex compared to elk, beef flavor is actually quite boring to me.

Haven't bought beef (except the occasional Ribeye) in 10 years. Beef burgers seem super greasy now-a-days. Elk burger cut with a little fat and elk premium cuts.... hard to beat. Raised my kids on wild game.
Caribou is my favorite!

No love for chicken? Crispy fried legs and thighs, roasted breast, chicken and dumplings, fried gizzards, livers, fried feet... Actually I love beef and could eat a t-bone or fillet every day. We raise our own butcher steers which is MUCH better than store bought.

If I'm cooking with meat (e.g. spaghetti) I like venison as much if not more than beef. If it is straight up I prefer beef. Fresh pan fish breaded and deep fried has to be the best tasting meat out there.

Beef and Deer for me. I prefer a good beef steak, but other than that deer. I HATE making beef burgers on the grill any more. The fat an associated grease is just a PITA. I'll grill deer burgers all day long, but we cheat some as well. My deer burger is done with beef tallow added but at a much lower rate than your average ground beef. Pork and chicken have their place for some variety, and I can;t say I have ever had elk that I am aware of.

Elk backstops wrapped with bacon and a bit of olive oil.....over a charcoal fire.......TOPS IMO! Nothing else is even close.....except maybe a great Rib Eye. Have you had grilled buffalo ribeyes? I think they top beef ribeyes. Buffalo is my favorite, the best meal I ever had was buffalo tenderloin at a lodge in South Dakota. Unreal stuff! Bison burger is also a favorite of mine, we just ordered 20 lbs. from a guy in Sauk Centre.

Let me add, that venison back straps wrapped in bacon/cream cheeese/jalapeno...is awesome!
