Neighbor said this calf was alive and well yesterday. Momma is doing her best to gaurd whats left.... DNR is out there now to give their assessment. In about the last year, this is the 4th he has found..... I didnt know he has had 8 other calves disappear with no sign..... DNR and Feds wont do a report unless there is a carcass, so those 8 lost ones are considered vanished into thin air.   |

Trappers showed up today. Couldnt find any wolf tracks. Trapping called off.
Troy said in 20 years he lost 1 calf.
Last year and a half. 4 carcasses found. 8 missing and faces are on milk cartons.
And the trappers said its likely higher yote populations.

I heard tell that local deputies can now verify wolf kills and they are more eager than DNR staff to do so. Have your buddy call the local sheriff and report back to see if it is fact.
