every time I see a deer behind a fence I just want to slap somebody! At entire industry and the greed behind it is a perfect example of how mankind will destroy the natural environment and eventually themselves! Greed and the sole focus on the present with no regard for the future. I have no issue with true research facilities.....deer farms for the antler porn industry should be closed down there is absolutely no good that comes from them. Im a moderater here and huge believer in freedom to ones opionions. So here's mine. I take great offense to the words "entire industry". I can say with great confidence it is not all greed but some love of farming and hunting. My place will be better than i found it. Ecologically and economically. Slap away jbird if it makes you happy You are right Fish.....and I apologize. My typing was based on frustration and over stepped. My issue is with those that are doing things illegally and immorally all in the sake of making money. I do NOT think that is your intention. I thru an entire group of people under the bus and I shouldn't have. I should have been more specific in my ranting..... I don't think you are driven by greed and have every assumption that you would do everything as legit as required. My comment associated you with those of far lower stands and those folks where my intended target.....again I apologize. I'm man enough to admit when I am wrong and I was painting with way too wide a brush with that comment.

Federal funds are drying up. No cash for depopulation any more. Mn is the same way. It’s the future.

It is soooo complicated. One thing i know forsure...the disease can and probably is passing thru any single fence. Both ways.

I read the article, so why are they siding with the tiny Ag industry and jeopardizing the wild herd? Why not just mandate a double fence to mitigate the problem. Provide some low interest loans to get the grandfathered farms to be compliant.

Double fencing would be nice, but I think of spring run off or after heavy rains and the fences would make little difference. No easy solution.

Provide some low interest loans to get the grandfathered farms to be compliant. State statutes are geared to protect private landowners from the states deer. Any double fences would likely be funded by hunters or the general public to protect farmed cervids from untested and uncontrolled wild deer.
