As most of you know this was my 1st hunt of the season due to my tooth problem. Got into blind early in afternoon. Perfect day, cool temps and light wind. About 5:00 a doe and fawn came out in food plot. Half hour later another doe came out. For some reason I thought I am going to give a few blows on grunt tube. Set the grunt tube down and look up and he was walking out of woods 100 yards out. He started heading my way staying on edge of plot. When he got to 40 yards I was going to shoot but he wouldn't stop. He just kept walking. When he got behind blind starting to go in woods I grunted, he stopped looked my way, flicked his tail and walked into woods. My heart sank. I grunted a few more times, nothing. I then texted my son telling him that I just saw big boy but no shot. As I set phone down I catch movement, holy shit it is him coming back, walking same place as before along the edge of plot. This time I am ready, he stops at 42 yards that I had pre-ranged with range finder. Just as I squeezed the shot off he took step. The sound of the sounded good but I was worried I might have hit a little back. He went from 0 to 60 and covered 50 yards to where he jumped into woods instantly. After I regained my composer, I was shaking really bad I went to look for blood. I couldn't find any blood where I shot him, kept looking and finally found a drop of blood where he jumped in woods. I backed out and waited for my son to get there. When we got to spot where I had marked the blood we found some moe spots of blood. About 15 yards in, the blood trail opened up and looked like you turned on a faucet. 100 yards later they he was. There was no ground shrinkage he was bigger than I thought.

He looks much bigger in these pics than he did in the trail cam pic, which usually isn't the case. Congrats again

Great job Tommy! Cool story. Can I hunt your stand now? Lol You are welcome any time. Can't promise another big one though but I am thinking another Big Boy will wander in from across the road from ginseng farm where there is no hunting allowed in a mile section.
