1 inch at cabin. Lots of branches down. Henning got smoked trees down across town.
Almost 2 inches at home and half an ash tree went down. Baseball hail in monticello

This heat and humidity is not for me. I’m sure the food plots and apple trees like this weather, but I’m drenched in sweat after very little work outside.
I was thinking about spot spraying a portion of my plot by hand, but now I’m reconsidering that plan.

10 day has just about no chance of rain. Just had a pop up thunderstorm. Thank God. It’s very dry here.

I don't think God wants me to be a farmer, well at least a hay farmer. Every time I cut hay it rains. My first cutting had to be baled and wrapped for silage because we had rain coming. I cut my second cutting last weds and Thursday. It was just about ready to be baled for dry hay and I get .4" on Sunday to slow it down. Still with hope in my heart I go pick up a new baler yesterday evening so I can bale it this week. Well now it's raining cats and dogs 🤦. Looks like I'll get about .75". It could be worse. I could be counting on this for my livelihood like most people around here, but I don't. It's just a way to get a little return on my investment and keep me busy. Blessed for that. Hopefully somebody needed this rain for their crops and got it.

2/10ths last night. We needed it. Nothing this morning. Big warm up coming with no rain forecasted. Not good.

It is starting to get dry on my sandy soil by my house. We need one of those random 1-2" storms that couldn't miss us a month ago. I don't like the way late July/early August looks in the forecast.

It won't happen the day I cut it, but I can guarantee it'll rain in the next few days. Almost to a science now, 😂.
