My beans were wiped out at the end of October. Corn is a draw right now and the brassica is being demolished. About two weeks ago, I knocked down a quarter of my corn that I want to plant into apple trees next year. Haven't been back since to see if they've been in there. I haven't had apples around for months now besides the dozen Arkansas black apples that I had brought home and stuck down in the basement started to go bad. Those didn't last long after I dumped them next to the tree!

I fear I will be bush-hogging standing beans come spring. And I have maybe an acre to acre and a half total....the deer just are not here this year. Harvest is totally done and not many folks plot in my area either. It's been a really strange year this year here. Our running deer harvest is roughly 10,000 deer below what it was last year......again. One of the things I fear is that I may not have pulled back on the reins on the antlerless harvest soon enough. Lots of change and just been an odd season this year.

We are eating bucks, young and old instead.

My beans and corn have been wiped out and it seems "bird" feeders in my neighborhood are really drawing in the deer. We are in the no deer feeding zone in mn, but it doesn't look like that is being followed.
There were however lots of deer tracks around the basswood and elm trees i dropped last week.
