Got a late start this year. AZ apps are due today. I’ve got 2 preference points, I guess crazier things have happened but I don’t expect to draw a tag. I’ll research application due dates and post them here. I plan to apply in AZ, Utah, New Mexico, and Nevada. If anyone wants help I’m happy to share all that I know.
Anybody else planning to hunt elk in 2018?

Put in for all trophy rifle hunts here in AZ. With 18 points I'm hoping to hit soon.

I couldn't come up with a elk zone to apply in in Wy (didn't want to waste my PP's on a marginal unit), so I missed the deadline 2 weeks ago.
I have the max PP's for mulies in Wyoming - does anyone know any good public land mulie places there by chance? I have enough points that I should have a decent chance to draw a quality zone, but I'm always a little paranoid about applying to a place I've never been (and nobody I know has been).
My backup plan will be either an Idaho OTC elk or possibly a Montana elk/deer combo license. I'll be hunting public land for any of these options, but those hunts can be great if you get off the beaten path a ways.

Today is the last day to apply for limited draw, big game hunts in Utah. I've never hunted Utah but hope to draw someday. Send me a PM if you want info.

I drew it once when it was under the radar and now one of the best units in the state.

Colorado sent me an email stating that their website and system has some changes. They advise that you log in well before the April 3rd deadline to make sure it runs smoothly for you.
I have a trade show in mid September. I’ll just be getting a point this year.

I have points for Wyoming but I have never hunted there. My dad and a friend had access to private ground several years ago and both killed elk. I started building points and then the place sold.
I don’t like the state’s rules on non residents and required outfitters in wilderness areas.
Can a person with points draw a nice DIY area that isn’t infested with grizzly, wolves and other hunters?

Today is the last day to apply for limited draw, big game hunts in Utah. I've never hunted Utah but hope to draw someday. Send me a PM if you want info. I have 17 points for mule deer and 16 for Bison in Utah. The only hunts I have not drawn - I stopped applying in all other western states after drawing the hunts I wanted.

Im not putting in for New Mexico but would be interested in the future. If available I would like to buy your a beer and talk about applying in the west and get your thoughts on approach. A buddy and I are looking at an OTC tag in Colorado this fall. Right now we're leaning toward paying a trespass fee or buying a land owner tag. Unfortunately I'm not the best at planning trips and my buddy is worse then I am.
