Looking for suggestions on what I should plant down about 1/2 mile of trail where I want ground cover but don't want them feeding. This is my access to a bunch of stands. Sunlight is decent but by no means great.

Alioce white clover works good for everything. Yep...over time you get some grasss......just mow it and put some chemical down if you must......but Alice white is the real deal.

MO had recommended something but I can't remember where it was from or what it was. I believe they use it for planting along the highways.

Alsike clover is what they use in mixes in the ditches along highways. It is a perennial. Works great in wet heavy soils but will also grow in lighter soils.

Sounds like I need to check into white clover. I know in the past we always planted a trail mix that had white clovers, red clover, eye and some kind of grass.
Now I just need to find the time to clean up the debris so I can lightly disk the trails to prep for planting.

I am always amazed how you can provide a map and flag an area with the bobcat operator and he still somehow clears the wrong area for a future foodplot. Let's just say he is coming back out to clear the right area soon.
