So do you have any history with him? Do you know how old he is? Are you sure he was wild?

We find the remains of turkeys fairly often. Coyotes to take a few.
But turkeys are sharp and I can see how a careful adult can avoid predation most of the year. Spring gobbling and strutting does make them vulnerable.
I am amazed how white poults can survive. Everything in the woods wants to eat them and they have zero Camo to help them.

That's a cool looking turkey. I would certainly hunt him but would kind of secretly hope he outsmarts me just to see him make it. Having a bird like that around long term would be something else!

Dad put him on display at a state park for a few months. He put him at my cabin last week.

We had a white/ buff mallard hatch on our lake when I was younger. One foggy morning Dad shot a mallard and had me go pick it up with the other boat. It was the white one and he had a mount done. He did not know it was the white one when he shot it.
The duck mount and some fish mounts perished when my cabin was torched.
