Has anyone ever thought of or tried lowering the air pressure in your tires for rough ground. If not give it a try, it helps. If your mower is like mine, the stupid tires lower their own pressure all the time. I am always pumping up the lawn mower tires. The short wheel base on lawn mowers and no suspension certainly does help the ride either.

Bought a Hustler and... damn it is awesome. No wonder there is an old say that once you go black you never go back... SIZE DOES MATTER! I went to a 60" cut and the number of passes went down drastically (lots of long narrow mowing).
I looked at JD, Kubota, Scag, Ferris, Country Clipper, and some others. I liked the Scag the most and their dealership was by far the most helpful and knowledgeable. Probably the best a mower can be built. Ferris was number 2 with it's 4 wheel suspension and over powered engine. But both those cost $600 more for the 48" than the Hustler in 60", and both those dealerships were over an hour from home. The Hustler dealership is 20 minutes from home. I would have paid more for the better mowers but drive time to get parts and help was the difference maker. Plus, I think the Hustler is more machine than I've ever owned in my life and plenty good enough for the hours I'll put on it. I did have to do some work to it that I wouldn't have had to do if I got the higher end machines from the dealerships. I had to adjust a limit switch, adjust the throttle cable, adjust the steering arms, and take a file to some burs to smooth out the steering some.

Here she sits. This path use to take forever to get around all the trees and back n forth to get mowed. Piece of cake now. Something I found about the wider deck is that it sticks out farther from the tires than a smaller deck on the same frame. Makes getting close and edging much easier without rubbing tires on stuff. It used to take 3hrs to mow my yr, I did it last night in .9hrs and that includes letting the wife and kids play on it some.

Sweet ride, love the beer holder! It holds beer ok... but I have to admit it's hard to drink while driving the thing. If I'm going to mow 3 times as fast then I'm going to have to either; drink 3 times as fast or take 3 times the breaks. Not sure which way I'll go yet but I'm sure it will work itself out. I wish Hustler offered the joystick like Country Clipper does.

Eventually you figure out how to drive with one hand and grab a quick sip.

Eventually you figure out how to drive with one hand and grab a quick sip. Piece of tubing, long ass straw. Problem solved.
