I recently heard that the top brass at BWA has handed over the reigns to some younger folks within the last month or so. They have been relatively silent with the whole CWD thing... It will be interesting if they stay course or decide to be more active.

I am not currently a member. I've spoken with the new current president online a time or two and I'm a little concerned he is not up to the task.

That would be sad, they have done much for the deer herd/hunting, at least in SE MN anyway.

I agree. I hope their impact is lasting and the general population has seen the good in properly managing the herd. I'm optimistic they have

I think you have to give them the benefit of the doubt with the "good" they have done up til this point. If they start "leaning" some other way, one might have cause for concern. Murk is a young guy, it isn't one of his buddies, is it!!!! Sneaking in like a............ !

Yeah I'm thinking about becoming involved. Part of me thinks they are correct in assuming working with the DNR is likely the right path, but I don't think it should be so buddy-buddy. There needs to be the correct level of tension to continue working towards something

Not the immediate willingness to follow along with the DNR. There needs to be goals set and check points to effectively monitor progress toward said goals

Blufflands has always been considered a "leader" in forward thinking deer management, I hope the hell they just don't start "following along" with the idiots in St Paul, knife to the heart right there!

I believe Sieve (not sure on spelling) still has a seat on the deer plan and he is very knowledgable from what I hear. Not sure if he is officially still associated with BWA or not.

Not sure, their website is somewhat of a joke, doesn't look like it has been updated since 2015? WTF?

Yeah I asked about that and it sounds to be part of a larger transformation they may be going though. It sounds like they have remained relatively quiet since APR was enacted
