I just had a colonoscopy this week and they asked if I felt safe at home. Never did ask the gun thing. None of their damn business is right.

That whole thing bothered me too. That was all the rage after Obamacare passed, at least in the talking head media. I couldn't help but think it put up a bigger wall for people who might work up the courage and clarity to go and ask for help when they felt their squash was getting wonky. Now the quacks are seen as narcs for the police, people with guns who need help just wallow in the shadows again for fear of losing their rights simply because they might be feeling down or off more often than usual.

I had my yearly checkup today. Nurse asked if I felt depressed. I was waiting for the next question to be asked if I own firearms. Never was asked that one. Doc came in and asked about depression and his next question was if I smoked pot. I told him if he gave me a script for some I'd give it a try. He wouldn't give me one.

Doing the prep for tommorow's colonoscopy right now. Gonna be an interesting night. I get thru this......and then need a cystoscope next Friday. December will provide a series of three BCG treatments - more tubes up your junk with a TB virus of all things.(I've been doing this 2x/year for 3 years. Feels a bit excessive right now. Somebody always wants to put tubes in my orifices lately. I should not complain......I keep dodging bullets and they are on-top of treatments for me - thus far. .

My wife has her 50 year check up colonoscopy tomorrow. I spent a good part of the summer laying low after having my prostate removed. Had prostate cancer caught early (PSA 11.4, Gleason 7) but after my 6 week checkup doc says find something else to die from.
If you are not monitoring your PSA it may be an idea. For some reason its not discussed much?

If your prostate is funky the levels rise. If the levels are elevated they do a biopsy and to see what's what. I had never heard of the test until my general practish asked if I wanted a PSA test.

For some reason its not discussed much? That's crazy, did you catch your cancer through a random screening or did you have some symptoms? Good to hear you are doing well. I recently turned 40 and have no idea there were things to worry about yet. I've been to the doctor once in the past 20 years and that was to get neutered a couple years back. The doctor also checked something in my hind end, but I'm not sure whether that was a prostate check or colon. Either way I assumed I was good for another 20 years but perhaps that's not the case.

She said it was bad bedside manner to do that ass test without warning. I assured her if I was warned I never would have showed up, so it may have been for the best in the long run.
