Nothing in that TOS says anything about guns. So how did you arrive that that is particularly taboo? The word gun isnt in there any where.

This line is where they can get you at any time.............
as determined by ProBoards (collectively, "Objectionable Content").
Pretty much if they wake up on the wrong side of the bed one morning and see some things they don't like, they can take the forum down without notice. Remember the site we are using IS free and it is owned by some of NoFo's friends "out there" where the snowflakes are many and petty.

It was considered objectionable content as stated in an email to Lee from the site owners. You have to realize that the owner of the servers is liable for anything hosted on them, not the uploader of the content, even thought the uploader will get in trouble as well. I guess I should have said the server owner is equally as liable as the uploader, if that makes sense.

There's an easy solution to this conundrum. Create a new site on a software platform that allows whatever you want and build it into a good forum.
Personally, I don't have those skills and I don't have a problem with not buying, selling or trading guns on this one.

I have started to check into "hosting" one's own forum site. Not cheap. Very basic, bare bones, will start at over $100 a year plus a monthly fee. And for that, you don't get much.

Kinda sucks we can't post guns, but the layout of this forum is very user friendly.

Well that blows. May I suggest a sticky at the top of the fore sale section for a reminder ?

I don't have a problem with not buying, selling or trading guns on this one. Pretty much my stance too Stu. But if this is as simple as pissing off a moderator, who is to say that posting pics of pimping out a black super dangerous gun isnt promoting violence to some kook in charge of all this? All seems very vague as to what is ok to discuss. As long as it sticks to buying, selling or trading firearms, thats fine.

As has been previously stated, other forums have been shut down for a variety of reasons. There's no guarantee that won't happen to us either...for whatever reason.
The same can be said for most any other forum out there too. John gets sick of paying the bills for H-T and it'll be gone. DHF violates their TOS and it'll be gone.
All we can do is respond positively to what we're told to do. If that doesn't work, then getting shut down wasn't our fault...

Yup, nothing is "free", so the "price" we have to pay for using this software/hosting is for us to abide by the rules and I'd say that is a fair bit cheaper than the other options I have been exploring.

Totally get it. I have never posted any guns for sale, and really never intended to. So I should be good.
