The north woods mapping guy can get updated imagery within 6-12 months. That’s what I had heard last time him and I spoke.
I think I will be able to get a fall image of my place by next spring or something like that.

My house still isn't on Google Earth. It's been 3yrs.
If I had a drone and camera I wouldn't hesitate to fly it all over the place. I doubt it would show me more useful info than sitting a few evenings on a hill with binoculars in my hand. It would be cool though!
One thing I think they would be great at; finding dead deer.

I didnt buy it for technical use. I bought it for fun use.
Google earth doesnt have videos. Nor does it have lakeview pics of our cabin from 100 ft off the dock. I have taken it to a few cabins this summer to get pics and video for the owners.

Neat toys.....need some upgrades and the like to be a scouting tool in my opinion.
thermal imaging for night scouting or deer recovery would be cool......expensive, but cool. I would want one with a 1/2 mile range or better to be of much scouting use for me as I would want to fly it while sitting on the porch and send it to go check on plots.
