I use the scent-a-way spray (have no idea if it really works), I use the scent-a-way soap (have no idea if it really works) and I have used the activated carbon clothes (again - not sure if it really works).
I don't go crazy with an hour long process to get ready to hunt. A quick shower, toss on my hunting clothes, and a quick spray down once on stand......since my fat ass tends to sweat on the way to my stand.
With that all said - I still 100% try to hunt with the wind in my favor.
I am very active on my property - the deer know what I smell like. They know what our dogs smell like, what diesel fuel smells like and all that stuff. I get a far worse reaction pout of using commercial deer scents in bottles and the like than I do from me stinking the place up. Will this keep me from killing a B&C buck....maybe, but I'm not going to worry about it to the point that I am acting like I am dealing with some sort of haz-mat situation!

Amazon says it'll be here in two days. Here I go again. Thank God I quit fishing. You should see all the latest greatest lures I used to have.

I used it once since my buddy had some and I can not say I noticed anything one way or the other, but you would have to have some deer around to notice anything either way I guess? What I can say, is that it will not draw deer in that are not there to begin with...

I mean I can believe it but so many parts of the state have so many deer right now it is crazy. People I am talking to are saying its getting to be like early 2000's populations soon.

We are starting to get a few more with the limited antlerless tags the past several years, just based on the two times I've driven around our hunting area this past summer, but you have to understand the amount of pressure we get in that area during rifle season. If you don't see anything opening morning, many of the deer are spooked onto private land and become instantly nocturnal, even the does and yearlings. It is also VERY easy to get screwed over on opening morning, even when you have done a ton of scouting and think you have a foolproof setup. Public land, so can't control a group of jackwagons just marching past your setup 15 minutes before first light and walking right into the bedding areas where you expect the deer to be visiting. Or my personal favorite, park on the road and walk in on a county snowmobile trail, only to have some a-hole drive his jacked-up, straight pipe pickup down the trail and park it 150 yards off the road because he is to fat and lazy to walk his ass in from the highway. Fucking lovely, such is public land hunting I guess? Oh well...

The limited doe tags is helping the population boom by us. I think I've got 10+ different bucks on camera this summer, which has never happened before. Not even close.

Yup, but that is the difference between the public ground and private ground. You will most likely have a ton more deer on your place after the shooting starts, public will be a barren wasteland by 10am on opening day. I literally hunt some ground within 1-1/2 miles of your place.

The TV adds and print adds show that you put a little of this stuff out and the deer beat a path to it.....nothing will stop them....broad daylight.....monster bucks.....from miles away..... I used to laugh because I had a buddy who was into every possible deer gadget under the sun. Different calls different scent methods and the like. Yet he never saw deer. I just try to be a scent free as is reasonable and hunt the wind and I somehow got "lucky" as he put it more often than he did. I figured around him must have sounded like some sort of deer rage party and smelled like some sort of deer whore house! all of this in my area where seeing a deer is a good hunt!!! Grandpa told me as a kid, "Not all fishing lures are designed to catch fish....some just to catch fisherman!"

28th St, 30th east of you, 25th northwest of you, 35th southeast of you, 32nd east of you, 11th Ave northeast of you. You name it and it's public, I've been on it, remember I have hunted that area for 40 years, there are not many square feet of public ground in that area that these feet haven't touched for one form of hunting or another.
