Last project I need to get done this fall is bunk beds. I had looked at just buying a kit, I looked at buying used off the CL or FB marketplace. Not coming up with anything that seems like a good value. So it's looking like I'll build them from scratch. Starting perusing designs online and I really like this one. Anybody else have any advice when it comes to designing/building these things?

Maple grove? That town is all shady characters.
Those also look like twins. I need at least full to get the length and have some rolling around room.
For my cat.

Anybody else have any advice when it comes to designing/building these things? We bought bunk beds years back that were similar to what is shown. I think we found ours at an unpainted furniture outlet. Before I would build 'em.....I'd check those sources......or check Craig's List. Likely cheaper than building 'em?? Looks like one hell of a big scratching post for Bob.

SD,
When we finished off our bunkhouse we added built in bunk beds similar to what you have in the photos but they are built in. They are stable but, being built in there's no dust underneath them. The issue comes when you or Bob go to make the bed they're a pain to get the sheets over the mattress on the wall sides. I think you could build tem without lagging them in. I'll take photos if I get up there this weekend.

What mattresses are in the pic? Good point, I should have clarified. That design, but in full.
