They are recommending increasing harvest of bucks 3.5 years for age or older.
Quite a change from the old days.

Nothing but talking points for their mindless members. I can just picture the whole lot of them sitting around a banquet table fist pumping and bumping..."Yeah, Yeah, YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!! We gonna kill us some mature bucks this year 'cuz HQ said we should!!!"

Wonder why a group like QDMA is not exploring options regarding CWD?

Wonder why a group like QDMA is not exploring options regarding CWD? I arrived to the habitat management scene after the whole QDMA forums blowup. So, my opinions might be uninformed. But, it seems to me that the common consensus nowadays is that the QDMA group has succumbed to the power of the almighty dollar at expense of common sense and advancing knowledge. Aren't they mostly an advertising vehicle for BOB seeds and food plot implements now? Sometimes I'm wrong.

Spot on, but don’t leave out being completely in bed with the state agencies and rubber stamping their wholesale slaughter agenda.

I'm confused about the wholesale slaughter agenda. I can only shoot one deer a year in 108, no does.

I'm confused about the wholesale slaughter agenda. I can only shoot one deer a year in 108, no does. For years, SE MN has had essentially unlimited tags. My zone 172 has more hunters per square mile than deer, and we’re hunters choice this year. There were years where many guys had managed or intensive designations, and they were not seeing any deer in an entire season. The DNR spends all their efforts trumpeting the lie that there are a million deer out there, no matter how bad the winter, how bad the precious harvest, etc.

I was looking for the "deer per square mile" numbers online the other day. I couldn't find them. I was wondering what the DNR thought my neighborhood deer herd looked like. My google-fu was not up to the task. Anybody got a link? Not many deer up there.

Wholesale slaughter...look up the old Earn-A-Buck rules in Wisconsin from a few years back and you will find out what that truly means.
