As I drive around the neighborhoods right now I see all of those nice Christmas trees lying in driveways and I’m pondering what I could be doing to repurpose them on my place. Not sure if it is worth the hassle or if the Red Star state of Mn even allows such a thing. Seemed like a quick way to build a few brush piles, trail screening, or protection for spring plugs. I saw a video online where the guy lays tree tops in reed canary and slough edges to build up screening and cover quicker. The reed canary gets tangled up in the dead branches and stays standing through the winter.
Any thoughts?

I know SticknString often grabs up fake trees to brush in blinds from time to time.

I throw my Christmas tree in a ravine edge every year to give the rabbits some more hiding places. The red pine trees seem to last a few years before they break down and become worthless. I'm not sure if you would get a lot of long term benefits from bringing in truckloads of Christmas trees, but it can't hurt anything.
Crappies taste better than rabbits, so that's probably a better idea.

Anything that can hold up grass is A-OK in my book. That being said, I've got no need to source and haul in brush. It just needs to be knocked outta the sky.

Some type of invasive bug from Asia was turning up on a lot of Christmas trees in the Midwest and east coast. Be careful if you are putting them out in your woods. You could be introducing an insect that could wipe your forest out.

I just saw on the news while we were in Fargo this weekend that some bug was found in Xmas trees that were imported from somewhere that I cant recall.

It sounds like an idea best killed at the concept stage. I figured there was no harm in asking though, thanks for weighing in
