I think I saw someone here recommend this spray. When do you recommend start spraying?

Last year was the first year I sprayed. I used this product twice and it made a big difference. I did not have perfect fruit, but it was much better. Since I don’t pick all of the fruit up off of the ground, I also sprayed under the tree with the first spray. It seems like I sprayed June 1 and July 1.

That’s the spray I started to use last year. I thought it helped with keeping funguses off the tree early so the trees grew better. One thing I will do this year is I will time my spraying to later in the spring and fall. I don’t seem to have problems with insects until late season when those damn Japanese beetles show up. Last year I had less beetles, but I still had problems with beetles. If I remember the instructions on the bottle you can only spray twice a season, so my last spray will be later in the season and I will be adding a good amount of sticker to the chemical, so it lasts until it frosts.

For us chumps with no fruit yet, Sevin and captan is a good economical mix every 2 weeks during Japanese beetle season. I added a dormant oil/permethrin spray before bud swell this year.

Make sure you spray early morning or late at night to lessen the chance that pollinating insects will be out when you spray.

Will this spray improve the growth on non-fruit bearing trees?
Most of my trees are too young to bear fruit yet, but I'd like to try to improve their growth a bit.

Maybe check the label to be sure of days to harvest.

Stu emailed me a more in depth spray schedule. If my memory is correct, it was from Gilby’s at Aitkin and had three different Levels of care.
I will stick to last year’s plan for now. I don’t need perfect fruit, but things were 90 % better.
CAR was held to lower levels, also.
