I am very surprised at the number of pheasants that I am seeing. In both Otter Tail and Pope-MN, lots and lots of birds. They must have survived the winter way better than people thought? With the major snow and storms it is a big surprise.
Anyone else seeing the same thing?

Saw several on a short walk almost a month ago, right after the snow was mostly out. This was near Milbank SD. Hens and roosters pecking at whatever was in the ditch.

If this weather continues, warm and dry, the pheasant hatch will be tremendous. I have seen a lot of birds around.

Same here, looks like allot of mature rooster made it through the winter and if its dry we should get a good hatch.
