I liked this photo with the bear and fog. I'm winning the battle on ph here. The ferns have disappeared and clover and turnips are doing well.

They're cute but, eventually cause a lot of damage. I don't have many apple trees but have not had any bear damage and I have bear pics on trailcam all the time. The only damage they did was this year when a big boar was marking territory and snapped off some 3 to 4 inch diameter red pine that I planted for a screen.

Here are two of my favorite bear pics. The bear was watching us drive in to check the bait. Note the time on the trail cams. site to upload photos

I'm surprised they haven't found your apple trees? I do find the yearlings cause the most damage. They'll climb the apples and snap off the leaders or limbs to get the last apple. The larger ones will hangout under the trees to get drops. They. End my emt stakes.

If you look closely on the cherry tree in the background you'll see where a boar marked the tree. They don't chew it up too much any more but, do smell it and check it. It?

A tagged bear showed up in the June of 2014. The next week a bear made a visit to the deck on our camp and tipped over the grill. It landed on the knobs shearing them off. $100 later we were back in action. He ate most of the aluminum drip pan. He disappeared for good the next week. I'm not sure if an abutter took him out or what. I used to have a better photo of the tag but, can't find it. No bear near the camp before or since this incident. We are careful not to leave any food or garbage outside.
