Would it be an overkill to run a cable and post from each leg and an earth anchor like Jbird is showing above? Or should I still put one centered under the blind? Yes it would. My shadow hunter is 21' up. It is anchored the same way as the picture of my wifes blond I pictured. I'm heading to the 40 today and will take a better pic for you, well that is if I remember too. I'll send you a text Mike as a reminder to take some pics. Thanks!

Thanks Mike. Glad I saved myself some work with this and not over build the damn thing too much

Those auger type ground anchors are pretty cheap, so we put an extra one with a separate steel cable on our redneck stand.
I'm fine with throwing an extra $20 on an anchor for a $2000 stand.

I have 2 elevated blinds, one 21' high the other 10'. Both are anchored the same way. The only difference is the tall one has hurricane (auger type) anchors and the other fence post. I like the fence post for 2 reasons. If you hit a root with a auger anchor you have to reposition it and backing them out is a pain. With a fence post you go through it or it will cut a path through the root & they are easier to pull out. To anchor the wire rope to the fence post drill a hole in it and use a chain connector link.
