I'll add that eye protection is pretty good idea. Both for accidental chemical protection and for crawling around in nasty, thorny brush protection. Sometimes it isn't that easy to get into the base of the stems. I've done a fair amount of hands and knees crawling around in the thickets.

She said, thats what its telling me right here. SHIT, I wish I was up there! Crossbow is reasonably priced. I don't recall what I paid for a gallon shipped here, but it was about half what I paid for generic Triclopyr. I'm thinking a gallon of Crossbow with shipping was around $30 and a gallon of Triclopyr was around $60. I should have bought a 2.5 gallon jug of Crossbow...I will next time. edit...a quick internet search shows the price at the Country Store is really good. Tell your Dad to go pick it up

I looked online and 2.5 gallons of crossbow runs around $150 on average.

I looked online and 2.5 gallons of crossbow runs around $150 on average. Yup, that's what I just found. I'm guessing she quoted you a price on a gallon edit, I just went and looked at my "habitat records". I paid about the same price for Triclopyr and Crossbow (around $60 per gallon each delivered here), but the difference I was thinking of was the application rate. I used much lower rates of Crossbow than I did of Triclopyr (about half)

Thats what I thought and I reiterated, Is this for 2.5 gallons. She said yes. She had to be wrong. I need to call back and confirm.

I should have started on it 30 years sgo I'm not sure if I'd try to fight it here if I had as much as you do. The cattle that were pastured here for years must have kept it in check for the most part. Removing the cattle has resulted in more of the stuff showing up.

When we had cattle the only understory was prickly ash.

... and the dnr is worried that too many deer is a risk to overbrowsing. I guess they have never looked at a pasture.

Sitting in my stand this morning and watched a doe go out of her way to browse buckthorn. She was stretching for those green leaves. Seems like this time of year it's the only green leaf around. I don't like it but the tree has some deer value.

I don't like it but the tree has some deer value. I saw that happen a few years ago. Buckthorn has made my place thick after the cattle were removed.

Another invasive species that we need to do something about! I had 9 of them in my beans last Thursday. They should let you use rifle on them like Wyoming , that would take care of them for you Art.
