Another invasive species that we need to do something about! I had 9 of them in my beans last Thursday. They should let you use rifle on them like Wyoming , that would take care of them for you Art. With unlimited permits. My wife said 15 plus in the yard this morning.

My wife said 15 plus in the yard this morning. It would be nice if mn expanded the fall turkey season to 3 months and maybe increased the number of birds you can kill. I didn't have any birds on my land during the fall turkey season and my dad saw 20 toms and jakes there last weekend. The turkeys seem to eat as many soybeans as the deer.

You guys sound like the insurance companies in closed door meetings with the DNR. Come to think of it, they are a major nuisance on the highways. Thanks for the suggestion! I heard of a farmer who had invasives pecking holes in his silage bag one winter. He gave his 10 year old the .223 and told him to chase them away. Final comment was ‘That boy knows how to shoot!’

Stu so we are planning to hit dat shit this coming weekend. 2 gallons of deisel fuel, mixed with 11 oz of Crossbow. Is there any worry on temps that affect the kill rate? Obviously, dry conditions are best. Spray one side from the ground up 3 ft to ensure good kill. Does pressure from tank really matter? I dont want to pump the tank every 2 bushes. I have passed this general info to friends and nieghbors up around our farm and getting LOTSSSSSS of interest in this solution. I want to give them the best plan possible.

Sounds like you have a good plan. Tank pressure matters only if you're spraying around stuff you don't want dead. I've found a number of wild crabs/apples while wading through the buckthorn, I am always careful around them.

I am fighting the buckthorn here because it's the right thing to do. I can swing a few bucks for Crossbow and diesel

Friend of mine is looking into this and we might use a skidloader/brush cutter attachment and go on a 3 day killing spree. Just trying to figure out the details on marking the plants, etc...
