What will be next, the use of heat seeking arrows so you don’t have to learn how to shoot? GPS Goo on your arrow that when it touches a deer you can track your good or bad shot without learning how to track an animal? How much more fucked up can hunting get before it’s not hunting anymore. I would not doubt for a minute that there will be an invention that will allow for easier tracking on a deer. Maybe something that combines thermal imaging/arrow or bullet...fly a drone over the area, and you see the image?

What is next, fencing a property so the deer can not leave? I plan on having a cell camera next year. I only go to my land on weekends so it will be nice to see what the deer are doing during the week. I think the draw back would be seeing a nice buck on Tuesday knowing I won’t be there till Saturday. What I would want to know on the hunting show is how many cameras they had on how many acres. It is possible they whored themselves out to the sponsor and covered the property with cameras? Probably. Guys that don’t have a hunting show aren’t going to spend thousands to know where a specific deer is at a specific time. I have two properties to hunt and one day to do it if a camera shows me that a deer I would want to shoot is on one of those it is money well spent. I still have to pick the right spot to sit.

I have resisted enclosed box blinds for this reason. It just seems like cheating to kill a deer while sitting in a nice, heated little shack. Ethics are funny. Somebody else's may seem screwed up, but mine are certainly accurate I think this is a good reminder that freedom is a fragile thing. This is one of a countless number of examples where something we may not agree with triggers our desire to suppress the rights of those that are different from us. It's a vicious tool used very effectively by those that understand it. Some times we just have to focus on the preservation of the resource and back away from the "how". Easier said than done, I know. My version of "sport" is very convoluted, but I have spent a great deal of time rationalizing it in my head, and everyone else is wrong. But I respect your right to be wrong.

It seems like I've read that there is a GPS tracker that can be attached to an arrow and either sticks to the animal or just stays on the arrow.

I used a Cuddelink cellular trail cam network this fall for the first time. It was awesome. Most exciting season I've had in a long time. I'll be using it again next year. If I started using Nosejammer, the deer wouldn't stand a chance.

The whole thread on the other forum on the Cuddelink system really turned me off from it. I don't want to work on technology when I'm at hunting camp. Can you share your experience? If you found it simple and reliable, I might change my opinion.

A big arrest was made in Southern Iowa because of a cell camera. Nabbed a guy that had been shooting rifles off the road, they got his truck and license plate and the wardens were on high alert. Big big bust!
A cell camera has multiple uses, but security is tops in my opinion and just knowing what is going on @ the farm! We don't all live on the land.

Somebody else's may seem screwed up, but mine are certainly accurate I sat plenty of single digit days this year. I can usually handle those but, when a cold rain hits it sure would be nice to sit in a heated blind. I did do that one day but, the hut needs better windows. It’s also nice to have photos of bucks even if they’re taken at night to give me something to think about when I’m freezing my butt off seeing nothing.

A couple of years ago I thought I was wasting my time sitting in the stand after my Dad shot the only buck older then 1.5 we had on the cameras. But thanks to the rut a slightly larger one came chasing after a doe in my food plot a couple of days later. This year we were excited to have at least three over 1.5 on the cameras. Never seen any while hunting though.

Cell cameras are not necessary. Unethical for certain.
2 weeks ago I put up a 2,000 lumen motion activated solar powered light on my heated Shadow Hunter Blind that sits next to a timed corn feeder.
No shit, true story.

If my SHEeP have issues with what happens inside the fence they will make an account and voice their concerns.
