You guys use ATVs this much? Do you have a UTV as well? When we got our UTV I was hooked... we barely use the ATV at all. I’ve mentioned it already in this thread but UTV>ATV for so many reasons yes we have 2 UTVs and 4 ATVs. Each gets used for different purposes. I like the ATV if I just have to do simple stuff. A lot of times we will have a UTV and an ATV out at the same time. I love the UTV, but the ATV is way more "nimble" to get around things. for instance I like mowing with the ATV because i can get around some of our tighter corners easier. I do like being able to see the mower, whereas mowing with the UTV I cant even see the mower... Sometimes if we hit bumpy ground a bit too aggressively, the engagement arm pops up and shuts the blades down.... That sucks when you have just gone through an area and find out the blades arent even spinning. From the ATV I am looking back at the mower constantly to make sure its engaged. We load up the UTV with all kinds of tools and fuel and whatever. The ATV is with and if we need something from the trucks or barn, I point at the boy.... Take the ATV and grab XYZ. Both are awesome and get lots of use of all kinds. I actually enjoy ATV riding versus sitting in a cab in the UTV. Let the wind flow through my hair.

I have a 400 Kawa ATV and a 700 Honda Prairie UTV (with a 500 cc engine). I will pick the UTV over the ATV 9 times out of ten for jobs around our place. The ATV is a bit more nimble.....but that is not too big of an issue for me. I do wish I had Power Steering on both units at times......but especially on the UtV. The UTV can do twice the work of the ATV most often. My ATV is getting old.....and when it dies I may not replace it. There was a time I needed both....but slowly I have converted my uses all to the UTV.
Recently I made a receiver hitch for the front of my UTV. If my Herd seeder / spreader works as I envision.....then I no longer need the ATV.

Great for trail riding.....but for food plot work??? That independant suspicion is great for riding.....not so great for working. Just saying.

That is if you are pulling something with heavy tongue weight. Agreed. If you are just pulling stuff, IRS is great.
You cant even get a Yamaha with straight axle any more I dont think. The one Rancher model is the last of the mohicans with a straigh axle it seems.

I got it nailed down to about four important things. Gotta be north of 500cc Gotta be able to handle a front axle load of at least 250 lbs Power steering Fuel injection or four stroke (is that the same thing?) Those lower power and lighter ATVs are very affordable. But I need something that can handle that 220lb mower on the front. My entire property plan revolves around that mower. Food plotting, yard maintenance, trail maintenance, storage and so on. The money ain't there yet. I appreciate the help looking, but I'm not gonna get one until May. Once May rolls around, I'm prepared to draw a 300 mile radius around MPLS to go and find one. A hundred extra bucks in gas and a willingness to drive an extra 6-8 hours might yield something really good.

Be thinking non stick model year. You maybe biting yourself in the ass by waiting till spring. New model year, and new riding season coming up prices are going to be higher and dealers won't deal as much as they would now.

Dont they all offer 0% finance? Buy now / pay later. 'Merica. Not my 'Merica Foggy. It's Bank of SD or straight cash homey. I've got my ball rolling, I just need to let it work.
