I have the Kodiak 700. Sweet rig. Heavy though. I'm going through old threads looking for info on Kodiaks. I had been thinking a Grizzly was going to be my next atv, but after doing a bunch of reading on the interwebs it seems the Kodiak would better suit my needs. Are you happy with yours? Pros/cons? I use my atv for spraying, cultipacking, and as a daily "commuter". Haul my saws/gas/seed/trailer/whatever through the woods. What kind of battery hook up does the Kodiak have for using a sprayer? I just use alligator clips on the terminals on my old King Quad now.

I just strap a lawn tractor battery on the rack for my sprayer and seeder.
No idea where the kodiak battery is but sure its under the seat in a tight spot.

My Kodiak has the 12v plug. It works half the time. The battery is buried. To get at it you need to remove the front rack. I had a battery tender cable attached so I can charge without disassembling the front. It’s the one thing I don’t like.
I use a 12v dual purpose battery now when I spray.

I have two batteries I'll use. The first one was a 12v lawn tractor type battery, half-sized, same as for my DR machines. I sprayed 3 acres with it just fine, four full 25 gallon tanks. I never noticed it losing juice. I forgot it one time, and ended up buying a full sized 12v dual purpose (probably means it sucks as a starting battery and as a deep cycle) battery from the tractor supply in Virginia MN. I use that now. I strap it down in my front rack with a a ratchet strap. I have a cable with alligator clips on one end, and the little dual pronged slide it in type connector (don't remember what it's called) that matches how I wired my pump. The cable has an on/off switch inline. I zip tie that sucker so it's not flopping around.
So far this is my preferred setup. I feel more masculine with the big battery strapped on. You know, for compensation. This way I don't have to wear my giant watch or ten gallon hat while I spray.

I have used a gel cell in a pinch and worked fine.

When I've used a bungee I've had the battery bounce around and spring the hook. My plots were not smooth though, and I was also spraying access trails that are sporty in a couple spots. I also drive that machine like it's stolen sometimes.

I guess i am only spraying plots. So little to no bouncing. Plus only going a few miles an hour. Either works.

I try to spray at 6MPH with my rig. I did the math once. Don’t remember the calculations, just the result. “6”

If I keep it right around that speed, I can spray just over an acre with my 25 gallon boomless sprayer (don't know the gpm so don't ask).

When I spray I use a rachet strap to tie down a deep cell trolling motor battery on the front atv rack. With two rachet straps it is perfectly secure.

Do you guys not have the 12v plug in on your atv’s? Ours is 15 years old and it has one and works every time. So much easier than attaching another battery or trying to clamp to the atv battery.
