What was her problem? Lymes? She has a calcium build up in between her disc that caused inflammation which was bothering the nerves to her back legs. She seems back to normal but still won’t jump or put her front paws up on anything. She is learning how to go up the steps we got her to get into bed. That was how it started. She jumped in bed at 2am and yelped and then started crying when ever we touched her. They said she will always have it and will need anti inflammatory pills when ever it flares up. Chummer (or anyone else for that matter), our 9 year old beagle had/has many of the same issues that you are describing. He had some kind of injury to his hind legs/hips when he was younger and has had Lymes twice now. I used to have to carry him up stairs and lift him onto the bed and couch. We were told the same thing about meds. Most anti-inflammatory drugs will tear up a dogs liver when taken long term, so we decided to look into alternatives. My wife did a bunch of research online and we now have a concoction that we give him mixed in with his portion of wet food that we feed him at dinner time. We give him about 15-20 frozen blueberries (they are anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory), a quarter teaspoon of powdered ginger (aids digestion and is anti-inflammatory), a quarter teaspoon of powdered tumeric (anti-inflammatory), a heaping quarter teaspoon of Knox gelatin powder (helps rebuild cartilage, but ease them into it because it can cause them to get the runs), and he gets about 25 drops of 500mg CBD oil per day split into 3 doses of about 7 to 9 drops on a piece of bread or something similar. He moves WAAAYYY better than he did 2 years ago, to the point that my dad visibly noticed it when he visited us this past July and mentioned that he looked a lot better than he did 2 summers ago when I was carrying him up the stairs to go to bed. Every once in a while after he rams around with our friends pitbulls, he has a "bad day" and might need to be carried up, but within a day or two he is back to navigating the stairs on his own. A larger dog like a wirehair would probably need a bit larger doses, but it might be worth trying it for a while to see if it helps. Everything accept the CBD oil is pretty cheap.

most fucked up day I've had in a long time . Lost my bestest friend this morning after 10 years together... RIP, Brando my friend... My buddy...GO BUCKY! Who's a good boy? ME! That's who! Brando hanging with his best beagle buddy Scout and their young friend Copper the Treeing Walker coonhound...
Half way through a bottle of Connemara Irish whiskey and it doesn't hurt any fucking less...

Sorry to hear this.
My dog had his last round of chemo last Thursday. Three months until his next Dr appointment.

Sorry for your loss Whip. I have always loved beagles. We had a couple growing up and they have a special place in my heart.
