Our pooch made a visit to the oncologist this week. No sign of cancer. She thinks that it may be completely gone.
When we started treatment she said it was very possible they would knock it back but it would return in a year. It now been about 18 months and he looks great. She did try a very new treatment and it seems to have achieved a better result.

My Ivory lab is struggling. 11.5 years old. this morning she was walking in circles and stumbling bad. We were able to get her comfy and relax and she was better. Got her to the vet.
could be brain tumor, stroke, inner ear infection, etc.
She has stumbled all day but did get better for sure. We got some meds and blood test results come tomorrow. Tonight she is very stumbly again. Balance is way off.
Can only hope its a simple inner ear infection,,,, but, we have noticed some very small signs of odd things over the last few months. I attributed it to age mainly in my own head. Today was a shocker. Poor kid looked panicked in her eyes this morning. Felt horrible for her. As she settled down this early morning I was able to get her up the stairs to our bedroom(with help) and got her onto our bed and I laid with her for an hour or so. She seemed relaxed and at ease tucked up against me. Might be having to make a tough call and I sure hope not, but I cant watch that episode this morning too many times.
See what the vet says tomorrow, and hope tomorrow morning isnt a replication of this morning.

She has had dizzy spells but it’s an ear issue and once I clean her ears she does better. I clean her ears every 3 weeks or so.

When I see and experience these things, it reminds me of my age.
Once I had to put my first lab down on Christmas morning. It was a tough day and I know I waited too long to do it. I had dug the hole in the fall. I couldn’t go to church.
I understand, fellas.
That would have been my first dog, not the family pet of my parents.

Vet is leaning to vestibular disease. Common in old dogs. I have never heard of it.
It does typically heal on its own in 10 days or so. So thats tremendous news. Ok day today for her. Slow to get up and chooses her steps wisely. She kinda goes off and sleeps in corners and quiet spots. Just letting her sleep as much as she can.

Glad your pup is feeling better and has a decent prognosis! Tough to watch them suffer.

My 12 yr old Cooper grew about softball size tumor in a couple weeks. Brought him in. Real bad strain of cancer, it’s spreading all over. Vet said no real course of action but pain mgmt. Kids don’t want me to put him down of course, but I will probably need to make that call this fall at the current pace. I’m hoping he can have one more day in the goose field. He is staying happy and still wants to make the trips to the land even though he just picks a spot in the shade the entire day. Going to miss my tree planting partner.
