Well it happened today. Brie degraded a lot since her Stroke/Vestibular event in Aug 21. I didnt think she would last long from that, but she was able to hang on several months. Things had detiorated in since then. Up to that event she was in EXCELLENT shape for an 11+ year old lab. Hadnt really slowed down much, wasnt covered in fatty tumors like previous dogs. Just looked good. Over the last months, her eyesight went to shit, left eye was drooped a lot and they figure that eye was mostly blind. the other eye was very cloudy(cataract). Her hearing degraded heavily. We had to holler for her to even move her head and most times she would look around to where it came from. Last couple months she started walking in circles at times only to the left. Last few weeks she would walk circles around my truck, around the kitchen table, etc. Well yesterday was awful. She had a seizure at noon in my office. She absolutely flipped out. Horrifying to watch what was happening. It lasted 5 to 10 minutes in total. I got her to the vet and within an hour she was back to her current normal. Vet said it was surely a seizure. So off we went in hopes it was a one off. But it wasnt. She had another seizure at 1am, and another at 4am this morning. We had to make the call. Watching all the things adding up, was not giving her a positive life. 9am today we made the call and lost our Brie. once in a lifetime dog for me. fuckin tough not being able to rub her ears and listen to her grunt with satisfaction. It can be tough with a long time friend. I had to do it to our first dog on Christmas one year.

I can't give a like to a post like this. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your dog. Maybe you can replace that loss with a pup and hope someday he/she can be your new best friend.

Dont tell anyone.....
I talked the wife into stopping at Whispering Pines Labs..... But she insists its only to visit the owners that we bought Brie and Jayda from.(I told Becky we should stop there to catch up with them, since we havent seen or talked to them for years. Maybe they would like to chat about our dogs and shit).
Becky bought my BS.
OOOOOOO!

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!
The Ole' Lady gave in today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PUPPY IS ON ORDER!
So as I previously posted.......
We stopped at Whispering Pines Labs on Friday for a 10am appointment.(anyone that wants a lab should look into this husband/wife).
They are not cheap, but you have to see and understand what they do from pregnancy, to birth, to upbringing.
We spent 2 hours there talking to Dan and him educating us on what their entire life process is on the puppies they have. I left so impressed. Becky as well. This has elevated so much since our 2010(Brie) and 2012(Jayda) additions. They have a full time person that basically is acclimating/training puppies starting at 5 weeks.
FING amazing to watch the 7 week old puppies in action!
XMAS IN SEPTEMBER!
Well..... puppy on order for fall 2023.... waiting list is so long. boo. Mega happy in every way. Lifes a changin'.
