My dog from the start of this thread has lymphoma again. The first time we gave chemo with the Dr saying high chance of success but likely to return in a year. It’s been 3 years.
First lymphoma was around his intestines and he didn’t eat for weeks. This time it’s around his shoulders so he is gimpy but eating. Chemo resumed this week. Dr thinks the great results last time shows promise for this time.

My dog named Blue. His cancer returned last spring. The first time it affected his intestines and he could not eat. The next it was the lymph nodes in his shoulders and he developed a limp. We restarted chemo which worked but for a shorter time. The lymph nodes in his neck swelled this fall. I’ve lost track of how many treatments we did and what we spent but he had several good months. Saturday he lost some enthusiasm for eating. His last good meal was Monday night. He had 1 last Hail Mary treatment yesterday. When I let him out to piss he collapsed last night. We took him to the vet and put him down. He was the best dog I have ever had. I could walk the neighborhood without a leash. I could make him sit anywhere, anytime now matter the distance. He carried a blanket around like a little kid. He will be missed but not forgotten. Rip 3-9-15 to 2-20-24.

That isn't good, but it sounds like you did all you could. Good dogs seem to go too soon.

Sorry for your loss. I have an older lab and I dread the day she is no longer with me. Best dog ever…I give her extra pets each night knowing that some day I will not be able to give her pets. Yep I am a softy

Did you ever look at an old dog and think of yourself? Getting grey, eyes aren’t so bright, can’t hear well, and you have a bad knee. Age is just accelerated for them as compared to us.
