If we log some aspen and ash this winter, will the aspen shoot up to 3-4 feet by fall? This would have good sun, and good soil.

For popple, I feel the important thing is to take it all down. Better regrowth if everything is down and on light soil, a wet summer following helps.

Sunlight and how big an area? Are you leaving current tops or chipping? If you have a lot of deer they may hit revrowth pretty hard every few weeks. The deer here hit maple regrowth very hard.

It’s maybe 1.5 acres of aspen. Leave the tops I’m guessing?

$500 a year just to be hooked up to the grid. That's like 25 bags of explosive material to use for growing turnips. I'll look at boobie magazines with my mini-mag light.
Better yet, with my Glo-Sticks by Northland.

Then I will need a new place to live after the divorce. So many resources wasted because we've been told they are waste. We let sunlight come and go. We flush away valuable fertilizer. We landfill lots of gypsum. We are swimming in resources. You have to choose to use them, or surrender yourself to grid life. Far as trying gypsum on a 1/2 acre, to put sulfate sulfur out, which aids in nitrogen utilitzation, the primary component in vegetative growth, it is too risky a proposition. That would cost over $22 to try and take more than 15 minutes to apply by hand.
