Searched for 3 hours this morning for the other half of that huge buck. No luck.
Must be on a neighbors land, or they have already picked it up. Thought about not finding it the whole 6 1/2 hour drive home. Dam!
But we did find 2 more sheds bringing the total to 24 for the short weekend, with half the land not covered yet.

Whole other world. Can't get over that. If I live to 90, I won't find 24 in MN. I'm up to 6, and that's only because I found 3 in one day in Houston County. Two were spikes I found while mushroom hunting, and one I stepped on while bidding a shingle job south of Winona.

Found a few this weekend. The two on the left were laying together in plot. The others appear to be last years. I'm trying to teach the pooch. He will find and retrieve them but it is always antlers that I find first. I keep taking him hoping he delivers one that he finds first.

Thanks. If we had the bucks and sheds you have, I think I could get him enough practice to get really good at it. I found the pair last night while throwing down some clover seed. Took him there today and it's obvious he is using his eyes more than his nose. I had been training with larger sheds. I'll work more with these small ones that are hard for him to see.
