Nobody on planet earth can do what she does. Even if they ace their best routines, they cannot beat her difficulty. Leaves her lots of room for errors and still wins by margins that make her supremacy as consistent as a solar powered cabin. She's driven execution even higher since this was made. Dismounts off the beam that people can't perform on the floor.

Can she do this stuff?
Doing what she does on padded mats... eh. Not as impressive as some of this stuff.

Gymnastics is not a sport, neither is synchronized swimming. I readily agree, both are extremely difficult and require great athleticism. BUT, if it's subjectively judged, then it's not a sport. I can use the same argument to prove that football, basketball, and baseball are not sports either. They all suffer at the whims of a referee or umpire's subjectivity. No sir, the only true sport is one that's measured objectively. Pigeon racing is a true sport. Gymnastics is not. Had this discussion many times. I love to watch the Olympics, but hate judged sports. Too much subjectivity. I like a clear and obvious winner, and to not rely on some paid off French judges. In my opinion there are games, sports, and a combination of both. Games have winners, but don't have to be a sport. Solitaire is a game, it has strategy and decision making. It's fun but not a sport. Football is both a game and a sport. It's played for fun and for winning. Lots of strategy, offense, defense, etc. that make it a game, but it's also a sport in which the whole goal is to be the winner. Now Cross Country... it's 100% sport! People don't "play" CC for fun or strategy. It's for winning. There is only 1 winner. And that winner didn't have timeouts, strategy, or judges. The winner crossed the finish line first, no gaming about it. The gymnast chick... is one of the most fit and impressive humans on the planet. I wonder if she is a cat person or a dog person?

And his daughter. Has to be the worst feeling in the world... sitting next to your kid knowing she's in terror and about to die.

Shocking, yea. But the guy was not a model citizen. If any of us had done this pasted below, we would probably still be in prison. Sad what money can buy out of. Funny how fame shades over these shitty situations. I dont wish this on anyone, but the outcrying of sympathy is ridiculous to a degree.
Eagle County Sheriff investigators first confronted Bryant with the sexual assault accusation on July 2.[1] During the July 2003 interview with investigators, Bryant initially told investigators that he did not have sexual intercourse with his accuser, a 19-year-old woman who worked at the hotel where Bryant was staying. When the officers told Bryant that she had taken an exam that yielded physical evidence, such as semen, Bryant admitted to having sexual intercourse with her, but stated that the sex was consensual.[2] When asked about bruises on the accuser's neck, Bryant admitted to "strangling" her during the encounter, stating that he held her "from the back" "around her neck", that strangling during sex was his "thing" and that he had a pattern of strangling a different sex partner (not his wife) during their recurring sexual encounters. When asked how hard he was holding onto her neck, Bryant stated, "My hands are strong. I don't know." Bryant stated that he assumed consent for sex because of the accuser's body language such as her kissing him, putting her hand on his penis, and bending over, but that he did not explicitly ask for her consent during the encounter. Bryant later said that he believed his accuser was capable of saying no because during the encounter he asked her if he could "cum on her face", and she said no.[3][4]
Law enforcement officials collected evidence from Bryant and he agreed to submit to a rape test kit and a voluntary lie detector test.[5] On July 4, Sheriff Joe Hoy issued an arrest warrant for Bryant. Bryant flew from Los Angeles back to Eagle, Colorado, to surrender to police. He was immediately released on $25,000 bond, and news of the arrest became public two days after that. On July 18, the Eagle County District Attorney's office filed a formal charge against Bryant for sexual assault. If convicted, Bryant faced probation to life in prison.
On July 18, after he was formally charged, Bryant held a news conference in which he adamantly denied having raped the woman. With his wife, Vanessa, at his side, he confessed, in tears, to having an adulterous sexual encounter with her, but insisted that everything that happened between the two had been consensual.

^^^I hear you and had the same thought. That said, I hope I'm not remembered for the worst thing(s) I've done when I kick the bucket. Kobe came a long way the last 10-20 years. I think he was doing a good job raising his daughters. Maybe out of guilt. Maybe because he learned from his mistakes. Maybe because he had become a better person. I know I'm not the same person I was 20-30 years ago.
