Doesn't kickball Becky's family own some farmland on the prairie? Free land is the best kind of land, so you should work on that-
Is the $3000/acre price about normal for that area of SD? That's a really nice area.

That is a very nice looking property! Would be a dream to have a 1000 acre farm in SD, think of the habitat improvements you could make!

1000 acres in SD, you could stand in one corner and see straight across to the other. Unless there is a wall drug sign in the way.

That's a really nice area. I really don't know. Most land is still in the hands of the decedents of the homesteaders. I don't think the stuff ever sells. I will say, these guys don't know how to farm with adequate moisture. They've been getting MN quality rains since 2012, but don't have the drain tile or slope to deal with it. The corn belt has shifted West out to and beyond the MO river in SD. They are good at 15 inches of rain. 40 and it's nothing they've ever seen before. I don't know how hard it would be to get inputs in, or crops out from this area, but a friend of mine is the listing agent on this one. I thought it'd make for interesting discussion if nothing else.
