Yeah, I kinda wanted to get drunk tonight, but I have to go in at 5am tomorrow to finish another promising one with a new customer. Gotta get this shit in the door while the fruit is low and plentiful. Another real example of the "Trump influence", we have more new projects to bid than we have had in the last 5 years. Way more than 4 of us can even begin to look at. We even have our PM's bidding small, simple projects if they have time and we just hired a young guy that will be helping us do estimating on small projects for our local contractors and then running the PM duties on them as well. Business is picking up boys! And that's good for everybody! Without a doubt business has been picking up since the election. December was one of our best months ever. Since all of our customers take some time off for the holidays and some even shut down for a week+, December is never a good month. January was even better which is nothing new. The short month of February was great as well. Which is not typical. Can you say Trumpenomics? Or maybe it's not just Trump. Maybe it's because we got rid of the anti business socialist that has hung over this country like a dark cloud for the last 8 years. But I don't think a Hillary win would have had the same effect.

My sales haven't changed much yet, but I've noticed a stark difference in guys willingness to talk again. Anything tied to ag was painful since I've been doing this because everyone was just getting by. Seems sentiment has improved to at least get people thinking again.

Our company has guys getting quotes on equipment that haven't bought in 10 years. Many of them swore they would never buy again as long as a dem was in the WH. GC's have more work than can bid. I have a company I call on from WI, Michaels Power. They have a satellite office here and they tell my they have a billion dollars in equipment on order if the Keystone pipeline goes. If Trump gets congress to move we will be in a boom for years. For my wallet the infrastructure bill is the one I want to see next. That will lead to lots of big iron being sold.

I said it a few months back, there are trillions in free stimulus dollars out there for Trump to tap into. One big source is simple expectations. You're seeing that now. People feel good, they start coming out of the financial bunker. Cash gets put back to work, capital spending picks back up, people start financing margarita mixers again etc.
Then there is foreign earnings of American companies. Ten companies alone have over a trillion sitting on a pile in Ireland and other countries doing nothing. If Trump can negotiate a deal to get that capital back to the states some real shit could break loose.
Don't leave out health insurance. What would the guys like Mo do with that cash if they weren't having to pay $2500-$5000/mo in health insurance premiums?
Very simple fixes to be had to get the economy roaring again. Markets are a forward indicator of sentiment. It's all up to the GOP congress to work with him and get it done. If they don't, I hope the blockers get primaried out in '18.

Spring time and early melt always brings hope to farmers or anyone who works the soil. Lately, I have heard concerns from dairymen about their hired labor with the immigrant laws. Most of the guys they are worried about are very good workers and I understand. Still nearly all of my clients voted for Trump, and things could be much, much worse.

Problem with Trump is that whatever he states it just his opening position and then he negotiates down from there there.

I know that but Trumps campaign promise was that the pipelines were going to be built with steel made in the USA putting Americans back to work. Typical politician bullshit.

As he does with most stuff. Exaggerations and superlatives with very little substance when he speaks. I just hope his actions are better.
And I'm sure no matter what, he's better than Obama and the Hildebeast.

And I'm sure no matter what, he's better than Obama and the Hildebeast. The keystone pipeline is being built, that's a huge positive. If a democrat was in the White-house it would not be built. There is no doubt Trump is an egotistical braggart but at least he is an American and a capitalist. I see the velocity of the economy picking up and for guys who want work that's a good thing. He has bigger battles ahead of him, tax reform is huge and needed for American competitiveness abroad. We need to export more stuff from US plants rather than build plants in foreign countries. U.S. taxes make us un-competitive. Make the tax code equal to our competitors, repatriate the cash in company foreign entities and you have added a huge amount of investment capital ready to be put to work in the US. I hope it happens.
