My son shot this Tim this morning while the old man was planting trees. Is Tim Tom’s cousin? Either way, congrats!

Gobbling all over around me, but nothing super close. Didn’t get out to scout much, so just kind of set up in a common area. Well one just hammered closer so we shall see!

The one I heard came running but skirted me at about 20 yards. Another one was behind it and he skirted about the same but went behind my blind. Dropped the window and shot him walking away at about 15 yards! They weren’t liking the hen/jake combo this morning but oh well, made it work.

It wasn't a very old bird, I think just a 2 year old. He had little spurs and just a 8 1/2 inch bushy beard. Lots of birds being shot in my area this year it seems.

Got skunked last weekend for youth. Got skunked hunting my place yesterday. Teamed up with dad to hunt West Virginia today. This guy hammered gobbles on the roost and for almost an hour total. Stalked in really close and then dad called him in for me. Shot at 40 yards and he dropped. Got to within 20 yards and he got up running. Shot two more times he ended up on the edge of a small cliff. First time I ever had to shoot more than once at a turkey.

Congrats to all of the turkey killers so far this year! That Juan and Carlos was some of the funniest shit I have seen in a long time.

My daughter and I had 4 hens in the decoys this morning and couldn’t buy a Tom. And this is after we had trail cam photos of those 4 hens and 2 toms!! Still a fun morning. Interesting thing was the 4 hens came from 3 different directions and ended up at the decoys at the same time.

We have rain with more coming. Might have a break in the weather Monday. Then again the following weekend. That will slow up the turkey kill for the first half is season.
Hopefully it kicks the morels into gear. It’s been a little cool for good shrooms but temps will be better.

I had an encounter with 2 Toms, but they zigged when i needed them to zag. Never entered my shooting lane.
