I have a sink like the one in this picture. I need to hook a hose to the drain so I can ditch the green bucket and pour fluid down the drain paying no mind to when the bucket is getting full any longer. The sink has a simple 1.5" male PVC end sticking out the bottom. In keeping with my mask protest that no one knows about, I drove right past the 'Nards and went to the Home Depot. I thought I'd just get a 1.5" female with a hose barb on it, attach it and rock on. I had 4 different ways of doing this based on whatever parts I could find, and I failed miserably to find the right fittings for any variation of this project. I did eventually find a 1.5" female fitting with a hose barb on it, but it requires a 2" OD hose. I don't want a 2" hose sized hole in my floor. You think I could find the parts to reduce this down a little so I could use a lesser drain line? Not a chance. I think I'm gonna have to go the plumbing supply store to find what I need to do this.

How would a guy keep the drain hose from freezing during deer season?

How would a guy keep the drain hose from freezing during deer season? I was rolling along just fine until you started thinkin. Now I gotta figure that out too.

The answer will be found if you simply empty your mind then focus on the mantra, "Sunlight, Barley, Gypsum" Repeat until you've achieved enlightenment.

I was rolling along just fine until you started thinkin. Now I gotta figure that out too. Where is your outlet going to be? Surface? Subsurface? Plan is to run it to a weep hole about 10' away from the building and underground. I'd bury a cat litter bucket, cut the bottom out, put down a layer of sand, then a layer of pea rock, and punch my hose into the side of the below grade to drain. Now that Kooch invented freezing, Maybe I don't abandon the bucket, but put a T in so I can drain when it drains, and divert to bucket if/when frozen.

What about your water table? Are you gonna be able to get low enough that you'll have enough room to drain without ground water filling it?

Should help not freeze at least for hunting season.

Yeah, The highest I've seen it is about a foot below the surface on the lawn. Where the cabin sits, it's a few feet higher than that yet. I'm overthinking this now, and I've hit a brain wall.

Your gonna need a bigger bucket in the winter months. Or maybe two. Just use the line until it starts to freeze up. I think its your only choice. ......and quit peeing in the sink.
