Found 3 of them in the yard all within a few feet of each other. The ears are oddly big on them. Legs seem long too. They arent squirrels are they?

I have seen baby squirrels but never black like these. And the ears seem quite big. Maybe they are squirrels. Dead squirrel is a good squirrel.

Not opossums. I've raised some and they have no hair on their tails and have a different mouth/face structure. I say squirrel of some sort. Could they be baby flying squirrels? Do you have those up there?

Oddly enough.. yes we have had a flying squirrel show up very seldom over the 20 years we have been here. I had thought of that.
These are just odd enough that i want to know what they are.

They look like wet baby squirrels to me. I think if the fur was dry they would look more normal. I'm guessing if you look up from where you found them there would be either a squirrel nest in a tree or a hole in a tree they fell out of.

Yea, that may make sense that being soaked they are appearing darker.

They are structured like a baby squirrel from what I have seen, but the coloration isn't one I am familiar with. Fox squirrels are grey on top and brown underside....even when very small. These seem to have a white underside...

I read on the Internet that baby chupacabra's are known to have hair and a tail like that. They shed the hair as they get older and then they develop the spiny things on their backs!
