Buy a place in 108 and you will never have to worry about intensive harvest again. Too far. But nice area. I like the fishing better up there.

There is very little difference in actual harvest between 5 deer and three deer areas. They changed intensive to three deer because of all of the crap we gave them. It was just a face saving move. Don’t kids get a cheap tag now, so the ‘kids’ shoot the extra deer.

I figured the move from 5 to 3 was a psychological one. Not many hunters shot more than 2 deer (very few shot and registered more than 2 in their name anyway) and 3 was about all any hunters would take. If you can get more hunters to decide they want to "limit out" by shooting 3 instead of the ridiculous 5, maybe they increase harvest a small percentage.

I think more hunters killed 3 or 5 deer than the DNR let on.

I think more hunters killed 3 or 5 deer than the DNR let on. If that was the case, why would DNR change anything? It would seem counterproductive from the DNR's kill 'em all strategy

Lots of the former 5 zones are now unlimited with early firearm antler less. Guys I knew would never burn their last antlerless tag because it meant they were done. Neighbor on my 240 shot 7 one year. No register rule has lots of tags being used multiple times. You can have her bagged up and in the freezer before you are required by law to phone register. ...and we should always remember they are trying to lower deer number for our safety and the safety of the children. And old people.

Well then they dropped it from 5 to 3 but opened the door wider to use tags more than once.

I could see that if they got checked with a gutted deer being drug behind them or in the truck...but if they were "group hunting" can't you continue to hunt even if you've filled your tag(s)?

Hunters in Minnesota take advantage of party hunting all the time. I wish the tag was based on season. It’s an excuse to keep hunting season to season. Tag a buck during gun, with someone else’s tag, then still hunt Muzzy.

The MN 2020 deer regulations are out. It looks there is no shortage of tags available in our area. They didn't list the multiple late gun seasons that were around last year in the CWD zones, but I'm assuming they will be added later.

If the outdoor trend continues the herd will have plenty of pressure come fall.

Anyone have any surprises? My area is still HC.

Intensive in 240. Three deer limit. There are deer around but 3 per hunter seems unnecessary.
