Great pics! I love wildflowers and the diversity they bring. Soooooo much benefit to having stuff like that in the area.

Came across something new today. I believe it is Steeplebush or Meadowsweet Spirea based on app suggestions

I couldn't any of them to cooperate for a picture, but there were 4 monarchs working this area over as I was on my way out tonight. Most that I have seen together this year.

This was taken in the nature reserve behind my house that they burned this spring. The bluestem and flowers came back strong this summer. Been cool seeing how one type dies off just as another is starting to bloom.

It's been fun to watch our acre of wildflowers from year to year. Every year the bloom changes

Any links for wildflower ground prep? I have an acre I am thinking may go into wildflowers.

^^^I had some links saved on my old laptop but no longer have those sites saved. The recommendation is pretty much to grow RR soybeans for a couple years to get weeds controlled and to build N. Then drill or broadcast wildflower seed in late fall/early winter. Preferably before a big snowstorm

Spray with round up now and in a month would be a good start.
I never seem to follow those guidelines, but every planting guide for every plant seems to involve multiple sprayings the prior year.
