IMOX is the same chemical as Raptor, Clearcast, and Octivio. Supposed to kill grasses and broadleaves in clover/alfalfa plots. That sounds like something I should get. I have a fair amount of grass growing in a clover plot along with other weeds. I thought cleth would be a good choice to knock back the grass. I figured mowing would take care of the rest at least well enough for me. . I typically just mow and let clover go until it gets so thin I nuke it all and try again. I should take up spraying to try to extend the clover plot life.

4-8 oz. per acre of IMOX. Seems most folks are using 6 oz. A quart will do around 5 acres. Of course, you need to add Nitrosurf to get a good kill. I paid about $152 for a Qt. of Imox and 2.5 gallons of Nitrosurf (3 pints per acre with Imox) to be delivered here from Keystone Pest. If Imox does what Cleth and 2-4db do in a single application it will be a cheaper option. Downside is that I've read Imox doesn't do much for thistles. I bought a jug of Basagran ($95/gallon/delivered) to tank mix with the Imox and Nitrosurf. I added 1.5 pints of the Basagran. The last time I checked a 2.5 gallon jug of glyphosate was over $100 without delivery. 2.5 gallons of gly will do 5 acres at 2 qts./acre...and in my experience it will only burn down the thistles, then they come back from the root.

Hit the wildflower field with another 8 oz/each cleth and NIS this morning. There's definitely plenty of dead/dying grass out there from the first shot. I hope this second dose really knocks back the remaining perennial grasses. I'm thinking about throwing a bunch of clover seed out there. Clover has pretty blossoms, the wife shouldn't be too pissed.I had enough spray mix left over to hit the obvious grasses in the house plot. Think I'll hit that plot with IMOX tomorrow. I decided to go ahead and put down about 10 lbs. of crimson/frosty berseem/white clover seed this morning. Rain on the way. The clover may take off.

Is that a managed wildflower area? Yep. It's about an acre of wildflowers/forbs/weeds. I throw a few lbs. of seed out there every year. Hit it with cleth each year to keep the grasses to a minimum.

It is always interesting to see what comes up from the native seed bank each year.

It is always interesting to see what comes up from the native seed bank each year. Every year can bring surprises. I think the prior winter influences what happens in the current summer. So far this year we have allot of Yaro.
