I go as far as taking a hedge trimmer and clean all branches hanging over the trail. Its kinda park like.

I spend more time creating easy mowed trails for the deer than I used to. Another thing I like to do is cut the small trees and buckthorn, or mow around the best oak trees. The deer and turkey seem to gravitate to the easy pickins!

I do keep the brush knocked back far enough off my trails so I can easily get through on the atv, but I want scrape branches in certain locations.

Just spent about 3 hours mowing trails with the BillyGoat. Damn near killed me That's too much work. You need to buy SD's flail mower that he has for sale on the other forum.

I have the walk behind DR mower. It is hard work on rough ground or when hitting really heavy stuff.
I learned the hard way. Slow down. Let the machine do the work. Don’t fight it. Things got easier.

I was in the lowest gear on the BG today. The "issue" was that I was climbing hills half the time. These aren't giant hills, but they'll grab your attention when walking or snowshoeing. The Goat also doesn't deal well with less than flat land. You're constantly fighting the thing to keep it going straight when you're on a side hill. I'd imagine a newer model of BG or DR would be more user friendly. I can buy a pull behind rough cut for about the same money as a new walk behind though.
