This is from a cam about 75 yards away from the houseplot. This was one of the bucks in the plot this morning.

Nice bucks. That second buck looks like will have a lot of points when he is done growing.

I have older bucks in the yard plots all the time. The kids and I practice stalking on them in the summer. I'm of the camp that they do change in the fall. I'm also in the camp that if you bump a deer that is coming to you (ie - a yard plot) that it is different than bumping him by going to him (ie - stepping into his home or travel routes). I think that makes a lot of sense. I'd say bumping a buck while in a stand is certainly different than bumping one in the back yard too. I didn't mean to disagree that bucks are different/change in the fall. They certainly do change as day length shortens, antlers harden, and more people start messing around in the woods. I think it depends whether he’s in your bedroom or his bedroom when he gets jumped as well as how much other pressure they get from predators.

I hope you get the rain Stu. It’s dry here. The dryest stretch I’ve seen here in my lifetime.

Well...I had some weeds showing back up in the unmowed clover plot so I decided to mow it. There's supposed to be heavy rain tonight, so I decided to try putting brassica seed down on the plot before mowing. We'll see what happens. Some of the alfalfa was knee high and getting thick stems. It made sense to mow I think. Is that the plot by the house?

I hope you get the rain Stu. It’s dry here. The dryest stretch I’ve seen here in my lifetime. That sucks. I saw on the drought monitor that much of the northeast is in a drought. Pretty odd for that area I actually hope tonight's rain misses my place. I've got standing water in places I've never had it except for during snow melt. This area went from drought to wet in a hurry.

Was planning to mow my clover plots today. May do that first then spray for broadleaf.....and grasses? Question, can I mix Cleth (16 oz / acre) AND Butyrac 200 (16 oz/ acre) in the same tank? Should have at least 12 hours before a rain.....so I expect that to be good. If so.......how much non-ionic surfactant should I add?? Thanks for a reply.......gotta head out in a hour. ^^. Kinda a spendy tank of herbicides. .
