We shot 21 dove and 4 pigeon this morning. Going out again at 2.30. Dove numbers way less than last time I was Here. I think the wind makes a difference, yesterday a saw a bunch, today not as many.

Does the youngster in the top picture have a live dove in a hat?
How do you cook the hearts than gizzards? That's quite a day of bird hunting, holy cow.

Took care of it all morning, named it, and took it home. I'm sure mom and dad will be thrilled. Role them in flour and fry. Leave rare, don't get them very done or they get not great.

Nice hunt right there! I love visiting my buddy in AZ for winter dove hunting. Damn good eating too!
U have millet fields set up or just hunt native habitat?

Marinate, wrap in bacon, Sliced water Chestnut, grill...profit. Love me some dove.

Slower hunt this morning but everyone limited out by 9:00am. 100% so far... 11 guns and 11 limits in 2 hunts. 2 kids have been introduced to hunting this weekend, they both seemed to enjoy it. I bet tomorrow is slow as hell though. Supposed to be a cold snap next week, might catch a migration of those big northern birds coasting in on the front...
