I got the notice that my 2c plan is expiring. Anybody put much thought into comparing 2c and SFIA lately? I renewed mine about two years ago.....cost me $500 to basically rubber stamp the old plan.....then the County lost my paperwork in the shuffle....and I did not get the credit on my taxes. When I grumbled....they basically said "tuff chit". Grrrrrr..... One thing about these plans......is that the folks that write them and renew them are all retired DNR boys......and this is a part of their retirement funding. Everyone I have met that does this stuff is retired DNR. They get well paid for little paper shuffling and knowing the ropes (supposedly). Deep state? yep.

The guy I had do my first plan was apparently "forced out" of the MN DNR. I don't know why. Maybe he was fucking sheep in the state buildings. He was definitely a bit "different". I contacted him earlier today and haven't heard back. I'll give him a few more days then contact some other retired DNR employee.

Oh,,,,, damn, the guy that left the Alex office before him I bet.... What the hell was his name? He was VERY vocal about the bullshit in the DNR. And a bit of an odd duck.
Oh man, I can picture him.

Ole Chuck came out to our farm to do an inspection after one of our tree planting programs when he was with the DNR forestry.
He never got out of his pickup and just asked us where we planted the trees and had us point at a map. And biched and complained about his job and the DNR a good amount.

Ernie retired probably 5+ years ago I believe when they shut down the Alex forestry office.
Our new Forester is out of Detroit Lakes.

I got the notice that my 2c plan is expiring. Anybody put much thought into comparing 2c and SFIA lately? Finally got the forester who wrote the first forestry stewardship plan to commit to renewing it so I can maintain the 2c status. Kind of odd that I have to chase a guy to do essentially nothing but collect another check.

I have applied for some cost share on the plan as long as certain practices are done. Evidently the current rules are a little more strict than ten years ago.

My forester told me there was cost share available for the plan. I told him all I wanted was the stewardship plan completed on time. The last one cost me under $600, I'd guess this one will be in that neighborhood.
