Nothing is as it seems. What was once only for the poor is now only for the rich. Round is flat, down is up, luxury and automation is the mark of the poor, primitive and inconvenient is reserved only for the wealthy. The lifestyle of 19th century peasants is now off limits to 21st century peasants.

Minnesota hunters are very efficient. I had 3 bucks on trail camera fairly consistent (all 3 year olds) all dead now. Neighbors got them. They hunt for bucks & they want the venison too. I saw hunters everywhere this year. In the stand with a bow on Saturday evening, I heard many shots.
Now on the other hand, the young hunters that I know, my sons and their friends. They will shoot a doe for meat and wait for a nice buck. Someday I think their age group will have similar goals and demand some changes. It will take many years before we see anything positive that will improve MN hunting.

Meat hunting is alive and well and deeply engrained in Minnesota. All you have to do is go on any mn facebook hunting group and you see it. I doubt much will change for years to come.
