Do you send your deer in to be tested for CWD?
I have for the past 3 years.

If we had a significant problem in our area, I might do so. especially on older deer. Probably not on young ones.

Do you send your deer in to be tested for CWD? I have for the past 3 years. I'm a food snob. There's lots of food I'd like to send in for testing. Venison ain't one of them.

Yep. If I plan to eat the deer I test it. I don’t eat venison that hasn’t been tested

Not even an option here that I'm aware of

We didn't test our bucks this year because it wasn't required. We killed 2 bucks in my cwd area and 2 bucks in the cwd control zone.
We haven't had any positives within 10 miles of my land, so I'm not overly concerned yet.

Not even an option here that I'm aware of A local vet clinic could pull samples and submit them, all at your expense.

MN DNR wanted 50% voluntary compliance this year. They are at 10% and 'threatening' to add a year to the '5 year clear' rule.
Apparently the public is not too concerned.

Roadkill positive in Rochester (furthest north ever for the 60SE) and another wild positive mile from the first in Dakota County.
Fucking Biden.

Never have had one tested yet. Maybe if I was in an area that had a lot of positives. One escaped farm deer is not enough to make me worry.

I heard that deer was already dead and fell off a truck coming from Iowa.

Looking at the regulations for firearms season and the expanded testing for some zones on opening weekend harvests. They have testing sites listed with some being staffed and some being self service? Anyone have a fucking clue how a self service CWD testing site works?

Anyone have a fucking clue how a self service CWD testing site works? They have drop off sites in Wisconsin. I’m guessing it’s similar. I think you leave the head there. Never done it so not totally sure.

I've used nothing but the self service stations. They have a box set up with all the paper work needed. You fill it out and deposit the head in the box. Once a week they pick them up and do the test. In the paper work you fill out there is a number attached to your deer and paper work. You keep a copy of that. You log into the DNR site and bring up your number to see the results. Normally takes 2 weeks to see the results. I dropped mine off at a station Sunday and it's not in the system yet.
