Got my Forage Collard seed but it won't be until end of May before they get planted. Going to fertilize and till or disc, then use my Van brunt drill to plant. It will be interesting to see how a straight planting does compared to you guys that are frost seeding with a mix. I have no doubt that your stand of collards will look much, much better than what I get.

One thing about buying those collards.......is that the only quantity that makes sense is to buy $50 lbs. Your gonna pay nearly $100 for any lesser quantity.....IMO.

Do you think that collard seed would be viable for 2 or 3 years?

Do you think that collard seed would be viable for 2 or 3 years? Most small seeds are. I've held various brassica seeds for that long before and didn't notice decreased germination

cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1018594-utica-greensI think I will try growing these. Here is one of those regional recipes you guys probably have never heard of. Everyone here loves them except me. My wife says you can substitute collards. Most restaurants here have a version of Utica greens but here is the original recipe. I don’t eat green stuff, I prefer my food to eat the green stuff then I eat them.

Used to be Forage Collards I assume, now its Impact Forage Collards. Probably triggered all sorts of guys to buy them now. I remember when Ladino Clover went from that to Orion XL Ladino Clover. They said sales for Ladino went up 20-25%. Go figure. LOL!
